World Vision signs MOU to monitor ICDS Centres in Baran, RajasthanWorld Vision's Baran
Area Development Programme, recently signed a MOU with the Government of Rajasthan, to strengthen the
capacity of anganwadi workers, provide technical support and support in
monitoring 60 ICDS centres in 40 villages.
The main role of
World Vision will be - To enhance the technical capacity of Anganwadi workers
to deliver the health services & timed and targeted counseling effectively,
To compile the reports of male health volunteers (Male health volunteers will
compile the report of Anganwadi workers) and share it with ICDS and district
health department, Share about the coverage of health services at the community
level or if any pitfall is noticed in the service delivery will also be shared
with district officials of ICDS department to take corrective measures, To
monitor and backstop Anganwadi workers from the technical point of view and
help them to disseminate appropriate messages to the beneficiaries and To be
engaged in supervisory role by assigning technical volunteers supervisors
(Male) to monitor the ASHA Sahyogani and AWW at the community level and support
them.
World
Vision will conduct meetings every month in the presence of both the anganwadi
workers and the community to assess the functioning of the ICDS centres. A
detailed assessment in relation to child care, maternal care, nutrition,
awareness on breast feeding and birth spacing is done to ensure that the ICDS
centre functions to its utmost capacity.
The
pitfalls that come up as part of the monitoring are submitted to the District
Officer and Block Officer. This will hold them accountable in addressing the
loopholes and at the end of the day they are answerable to the community.
World
Vision has also built the capacity of the Anganwadi workers, especially in Book
Keeping…to ensure that the Anganwadi workers maintain proper records and report
reality. “I am delighted that most of our anganwadi workers have been equipped
to maintain their records properly,” said Harish Chand, Programme Manager -
Baran ADP.
“Within
just 5 months of this signing of the MOU, we have seen a comparable change and
improvement in the quality of the ICDS centres and the capacity of the
anganwadi workers,” he added. |
