Working with Children Affected by HIV and AIDS
The number of Indian children suffering directly or indirectly through AIDS has been steadily increasing. Orphaned by AIDS, children as young as ten are forced to care for younger siblings.
World Vision's indirect interventions include increasing AIDS awareness within the community, helping AIDS orphans through support centres and counselling and providing them with nutritious food, education and vocational skills.
Direct interventions include providing patients with free health check-ups and helping them gain access to anti-retro-virals (ARVs).
Every child born into this world has the right to basic amenities like food, clothing, shelter, education and health. You can make this possible! Wipe away poverty from the faces of these innocent children!
