New class, new teacher, new subjects and new friends - children eagerly await the start of the next academic year. Their excitement knows no bounds.
Sadly however, rural India still has schools that can rarely interest the students. With badly maintained classrooms, broken benches and tables, no black board, lack of water facilities and child-friendly spaces, schools are a picture of neglect. World Vision is involved in not only putting children in school, but also equipping the schools where these children study, so that children can have access to quality education. Friend, we need your help to make schools a happy and healthy place for our children. This year, we plan to reach 100 schools across India, equipping them to provide quality education for our children.Here's a very unique opportunity as NDTV, Coca-Cola India and several global partners have come forward to match your donations. Many schools in remote villages do not have the necessary infrastructure needed for children. Your donations will provide a school with essential benches, tables and blackboards. It will also help improve school buildings by whitewashing and painting of walls. Moreover, it will ensure that school has a compound wall and a school gate, increasing security of children studying in school. The environment of the school will be enriched through tree plantations, providing shade for co-curricular activities. These measures will improve the overall appearance of the school and the school premises. Children will have safe, serene and conducive environment to pursue their education. Rs.10,000/-
