We must reaffirm our common humanity. Wherever we are, we can make a real difference. In the street, in school, at work, in public transport; in the voting booth, on social media. The time for this is now. “We the peoples” can take a stand for rights. And together, we can take a stand for more humanity. Access to nutritious food is a human right and Hungerfree campaign engages with all its stakeholders towards the cause.

Children's day

World Vision India celebrates Children's Day, with the emphasis on the importance of giving love and affection to children, whom Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru saw as the bright future of India. Children's Day is seen as a day for the kids to engage in fun. Children take part in many activities organized for them. children's day is celebrated widely in almost all the schools. This is an opportunity to engage with all the schools in the cities and towns, build awareness on the importance of not wasting food and giving happiness to children living in hunger and malnutrition in India.

World Food Day

World Vision India observes World Food Day, through the Hungerfree 24 hour famine. It is a day of action dedicated to tackling global hunger. Held annually on 16th October, people from around the world come together to declare their commitment to eradicate worldwide hunger from our lifetime.  These events promote worldwide awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure food security and nutritious diets for all. The focus of the day is that food is a basic and fundamental human right.

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

World Vision India observed the International day for the eradication of poverty . The theme for this year’s commemoration reminds us of the importance of the values of dignity, solidarity and voice underscored in the Call to Action to fight to end poverty everywhere. These values are also evident in the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development which sets poverty eradication as the overarching objective and obligated all countries to end poverty in all forms, through strategies that guarantee the fulfillment of all human rights and ensure no one is left behind.

When there is no food to eat , diwali/Deepawali through hungerfree 24hour famine campaign, brings joy, hope and gifts to the children who are in sleeping hungry every day. Diwali celebrations may last for up to five days.

Campaign against early marriage

World Vision India , with all its partners observes Daan Utsav, which  was formerly known as The Joy of Giving Week. The Joy of Giving Week (JGW) is a "festival of philanthropy that aims to become a part of the Indian ethos, with the Week being celebrated every year covering Gandhi Jayanti by engaging people through "acts of giving" - money, time, resources and skills - spanning the corporate, NGO and government sectors, schools, colleges and the general public. This initiative was supported , along with World Vision India, by many NGO's and Corporates. Corporate participate with this venture to fulfill their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) function.
